Non-resident buyers of Spanish properties rose 28.4% last year to 38,312, According to figures from the General Council of Notaries and reported in the Spanish press.

As supported by these latest figures, the real situation in the Spanish property market over the last year is different to how the rest of the world has been portraying it. Figures for 2012 were not far off pre-crises 2007 levels (41,787).

Our sales in Spain, especially in the Costa del Sol, have rocketed this year, as confidence is returning to the market. Clients are attracted by the low prices, and the fewer plans for new developments.

Furthermore, we fully expect the new residency law, where non-EU buyers will be given residency in Spain for property purchases above €160,000, will make 2013 an even better year for the Spanish property market.
