Beyond the local inhabitants there are several houses owned and used as holiday homes – owners from Paris, Toulouse, Montpellier and internationals from England, Benelux and Denmark.

During the week the village is supported by baker, butcher and mobile minimarket. Close to, in village Belmont and St Sernin (5 km) bigger shops.  St. Affrique with open market and all the great supermarkets.

In surroundings are several medieval Castles (8 to 10), which can be visited, in Albi musee Toulouse Lautrec and the great Cathedral, in Millau the famous Viaduct and Gorges du Tarn. Visit Sete at the Mediterranean coast, the fantastic beach and wonderfull drive along Bassin du Thau.

Visiting 2 very interesting wine-areas, Gaillac and Faugeres – with all in all over 75 domains.

Air-ports in Toulouse, Montpellier, Carcassonne and Rodez – all about 1,5 hours from Combret.

History of the village Combret goes back to year 1000 and oldest house on Place du Serre is known to be from 1051. Many houses has a history and Moulin (our house) was in function as mill until 1959. The mill installations is to be seen under the mill through a glass floor in the lower apartment.

The house is in excellent condition.  Roof, windows, shutters and doors all VVS and EL are new and maintained and all in-door machines and friges are new.

Tax and renovation cost are very low and water and the prices are amongst the lowest in Europe.

You can take a bath in the river direct from the garden, you can fish and watch birds like Kingfischer and Heron and many more. The oak forest around the villages gives rich possibilities to find a variety of mushrooms and Chesnut trees and castanje are nearby.

The area are known for wild orchids – there has been found 51 different wild orchids and every second year guests from all over the world visit Combret for that reason.

There are a music festival every year with many visitors and several other events. The local inhabitants are very friendly and helpful – several activities in the village during the year are joint activities f.inst the famous boule and other traditional gatherings.
